Ahhh the thrill of Prime Day. I’m an Amazon lover to my core and rarely does a day go by where I don’t place either a personal or business order, but I’ve been holding off on non-essential items for a couple weeks with eager anticipation to see what type of deal I may be able to strike for Prime Day. It seems that each year there are MORE and BETTER deals. So let’s see what July 2024 has to offer in the world of house and home goods.
First off, the basics- Prime Day(s) falls on July 16-17 this year, starting at 12:01 AM PDT on the 16th and runs through the 17th, with some deals already available at the time of writing this (June 27). Prime Day is similar to Black Friday where thousands of products in all categories across Amazon are marked down. You must be a Prime member to secure the discounted pricing. If you are looking to join Prime, you can do so at this link. You can always sign up for the free trial to take advantage of Prime Day deals and decide later if it's a membership worthwhile to you to keep or not.
Some product deals may only save you a dollar or two, and some may save you hundreds. While there are a ton of great Prime Day deals, ALWAYS price compare before finalizing any major purchases. Many competing retailers will also mark down on Prime Day and may even beat Amazon’s prices. My tried and true method for preventing myself from getting ripped off this way is using Rakuten. If you haven’t already set yourself up on Rakuten, I highly recommend it, and would greatly appreciate it if you use my referral link here. It’s literally free money you get just for shopping with frequent deals of up to 20% cash back at major retailers. I’ve been using Rakuten since 2018 and have been paid over $5,000 in cash back. There’s no downside. If you are shopping on a mobile device, just open the Rakuten app and type in the product you are shopping for in the search bar to quickly price compare and find which site may also give you cash back. If you are shopping on a desktop/laptop, it’s even easier. After you’ve downloaded their browser extension, if you have a product pulled up on any website, Rakuten will pop up and let you know if the same product is available elsewhere for less, or with cash back. See example below from when I was shopping for a new bathtub this week.
Lastly, Prime Day prices can change. Please note that the pricing and percentage discounts posted below are as of the time of publication and are subject to change by Amazon’s retailers.
So now that we’ve covered the basics and how to prevent having Prime Day regrets, let’s get into our top picks for this year.
- Been wanting a Keurig or needing an upgrade? Snag their K-Classic Coffee Maker for 47% off at $79.99. I love that this one has an auto-clean function, a large tank for less frequent filling, and is programmable.
2. At 56% off for just $88, the Lefant Robot Vacuum is a no brainer choice. This robotic vacuum features 120 minutes of run time, can be controlled through an app or Alexa, is automatic self-charging, and . super quiet. Keep your floors perpetually clean with zero effort! I love the sleek white simple design and the narrow profile to fit underneath beds and sofas.
3. At under $15 for a set of 2, why not refresh your throw pillows? With 24 colors and 7 different size options, these velvet pillow covers are such a win. I’m loving the Dark Green, Burnt Orange, Brown, and Pale Coral colors to add some dimension to any décor. Velvet brings such a rich feel to your décor and can elevate a room’s aesthetic instantly. These pillow covers have almost 30,000 ratings at an average of 4.7 stars. Wow!
4. Scalloped details have been everywhere recently. Even toilet paper! This bowl looks much pricier than it is. I’ll be buying one on prime day to use as a serving bowl, a decorative piece for flowers, holiday décor, and whatever else I can think of. It comes in three sizes. The small size would be beautiful to have on hand as a set to use as serveware for entertaining. If I can find the storage space, I’ll definitely get several of the small size to impress guests.
5. It took me years to justify the price on the KitchenAid stand mixer. Now that I have one, I can’t imagine life without it. It’s made baking so much easier, especially my favorite cinnamon roll recipe I make every year on Christmas morning. If you don’t have one yet, it’s currently showing a Prime Day deal of $80 off at $249 for the 4.5 quart size in black and white. If you've got a larger budget and have been wanting a colorful stand mixer, the 5 quart size mixer is $100 off at $349 with over 20 different color options.
6. Maybe you’ve been wanting to upgrade your bed or the bed in your guest room but aren’t ready to spend on a new mattress? Instead, grab the Tempur-Pedic Temur Adapt Cooling Mattress Topper. This is 3 inches of the most decadence inducing comfort you can imagine. Grab the king size for 37% off or the queen size for 50% off! The cooling feature is amazing for hot sleepers. Yes please!
7. Summer is definitely here, and many parts of the country have already experienced intense heat waves. If you do not have air conditioning and are wanting to beat the heat for the rest of summer, this 8,000 BTU portable AC hooks up to a window and is on sale for under $200. It features remote control, timer feature, dehumidifier, and 4 modes.
8. If you haven’t heard of the Ninja Creami before, buckle up. This life altering machine makes the most amazing ice cream, milkshakes, and smoothie bowls. You can add any mix-ins and recreate your favorite Dairy Queen blizzards at home. There are thousands of recipes and ideas available to search from. See my personal favorite here. So much fun for both kids and adults. It has dishwasher safe parts and comes with a recipe book. Make incredible ice cream for less calories and less money. Grab one on sale and have an ice cream-tastic rest of your summer.
9. These arch shaped candles are so unique, elegant, and eye-catching with a subtle scent. At under $8 each, you can grab a few to place throughout your home. I couldn’t decide between the light brown and white, so I purchased a few of each and plan to place them in my guest bathroom, dining room, and at my living room built- ins. These would also make amazing gifts if you are ready to get a head start on holiday shopping.
10. Last but not least, at $100 off regular price, this cordless drill and impact driver set from Dewalt is such a killer deal. If your power tools are in need of a refresh or if you’ve been waiting to buy, I would absolutely jump on this deal. This would also be an amazing gift. It comes with a sturdy carrying bag as well.
I also recommend spending a few minutes scrolling through household deals on Prime Day. In the past, I've used a great price as a reason to stock up on basics such as batteries, paper towels, trash bags, kids bento boxes, washcloths, etc.
Whether you are shopping for needs, wants, or just browsing- I wish you a happy and successful Prime Day(s)!
